Tyler’s Story

“There was a time when I had a lot – a condo, a nice car. I was getting married, and we had a baby on the way. And then my fiancée had a miscarriage. The loss just drove her crazy. And that drove me crazy. I ended up turning to substances to try to fill that hole, but it didn’t work. It led me down a road that I probably shouldn’t have gone down, but I wouldn’t change any of it because I learned a lot. I’m coming back, and I’m a fighter.

You know, Ladies of Charity is amazing. It’s amazing. It’s such a resource for people who are having a hard time in life. A lot of places do food pantries, but Ladies does food, clothes, toiletries. They’ll mentor you, they’ll pray for you. This is something that a lot of other places in the world could use. Every city in America could benefit from a Ladies of Charity.

I’m not employed right now, but I’m a trained chef, and I’ve got some lines in the water. I’m clawing my way back. I’m hopeful. Right now, the best part of my day is waking up alive. That’s really the only thing I can say at this point. Come back in six months and I’ll give you a better answer.”
