Centro Hispano Workforce Development
The Workforce Development Program is intended to teach the Spanish speaking Latino community of Knoxville various practical and enriching tools to help them succeed and integrate into society. Within this program are three areas of focus: English Language, HiSET (high school diploma equivalency), and Financial Literacy. This combination of elements is designed as a holistic program of education to target the major areas in which resources for the Latino community are lacking.
Centro Hispano Youth and Family Engagement
Centro Hispano’s Youth and Family Engagement Program provides afterschool programs targeted at English Language Learners and children from immigrant families. Students are engaged in hands-on highly engaging group activities, as well as receiving help completing homework and individualized plans that target literacy and math skills. A major component of the program is supports provided to parents to encourage and facilitate their engagement with their children’s education.
“Centro Hispano, fights to ensure that Knoxville’s hispanic community has access to educational resources and programs.”
