Advocates for Abused and Neglected Children
CASA of East Tennessee recruits, trains and supports community volunteers to advocate for the best interest of abused neglected children within Knox County Juvenile Court. Judges appoint CASA advocates to their most complex children or sibling group cases to provide an extra layer of support in an often-overburdened system. Volunteer Advocates work to discover the best interests, collaborating closely with Knox County Juvenile Court, educators, mental health professionals, community organizations, social workers, and relevant government agencies, to identify safe, permanent homes where children can thrive as quickly as possible.
“CASA volunteers are there to make sure that at the end of the day, that child is where they need to be. That they are in a good and safe home where they have the opportunity to thrive.”
Britney Sink, Past Executive Director
