Improving People’s Health

United Way improves health in Greater Knoxville by focusing on four target issues: Healthy Beginnings, Safe Home and Community, Healthy Choices, and Access to Health Care

Healthy Beginnings

We increase the number of babies born with a low risk for preventable health problems



Safe Home & Community

We reduce rates of violent crime, addictions and accidental death



Healthy Choices

We reduce risk factor for obesity, chronic disease and premature death



Access to Health Care

We increase the number of individuals receiving affordable health care services

39,268 individuals were trained in life saving techniques

77,563 people were able to improve their health by reducing the risk factors for obesity, chronic disease, and premature death

8,228 individuals received affordable health care.
