Emergency Assistance – $101,400
The Salvation Army’s Emergency Assistance Program provides a much needed safety net for low-income families and individuals by providing assistance with utilities, groceries, fuel, transportation, clothing, furniture and other household items. A case manager is often able to refer clients to other resources within our community. By assisting with these critical needs, the program actually helps people to maintain their housing, thus preventing homelessness.
Joy D. Baker Center – $63,000
The Joy Baker Center is a safe haven for women with or without children experiencing domestic violence. Residents receive access to a secure facility, case management support, and coordination of resources to meet physical, mental, and social needs.
Men’s Operation Bootstrap – $74,318
This program provides a clear path for the homeless to move towards self-sufficiency by addressing root causes. The program emphasizes accountability through required employment, daily responsibilities within the facility, drug and alcohol education, life skills training and achievement of both daily and weekly goals while a part of the program.
“Our simplistic mission is to reach into the lives of those who are hurting, who are down, who are in need, to help them through the challenges in their lives. To carry them from where they are, to where they ought to be.”
Major David Worthy, Area Commander
