Community Preparedness – $90,000
Families in Knox County are prepared for disaster, particularly home fires, by having smoke alarms installed in high-risk neighborhoods, youth and adult education around escape plans, and other educational programs around preparedness, lowing instances of death and/or injury in disaster.
Disaster Cycle Services – $140,075
Red Cross disaster relief focuses on meeting people’s emergency needs caused by disaster. The Red Cross provides shelter, food, and health and emotional health assistance. The Red Cross also feeds emergency workers, handles inquiries from concerned family members outside the disaster area, provides blood and blood products to disaster victims, and helps them access other available resources.
Service to the Armed Forces – $83,006
This program addresses the basic need for emergency communication along with providing access to financial assistance for rent, mortgage, utility bills and other needs identified through highly-trained volunteer caseworkers. Services also include referrals and information through our network of agency partners that we work with through the East Tennessee Military Affairs Council.
