Community Preparedness – $90,000
Families in Knox County are prepared for disaster, particularly home fires, by having smoke alarms installed in high-risk neighborhoods, youth and adult education around escape plans, and other educational programs around preparedness, lowing instances of death and/or injury in disaster.
Disaster Cycle Services – $75,000
The American Red Cross serves people affected by disasters and continually strengthens its own capacity, and the capacity of communities for disaster response, recovery, and readiness. By meeting these emergency disaster-caused needs, Disaster Cycle Services helps to stabilize families by returning them quickly to economic and financial stability. All Disaster Services activities are delivered at no cost to community members who need these services—24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Service to the Armed Forces – $50,000
The American Red Cross Service to the Armed Forces program helps members of the military, veterans and their families prepare for, cope with, and respond to, the challenges of military service. Every day, the American Red Cross provides 24/7 global emergency communication services and support in military and veteran healthcare facilities across the country and around the world. From the first day of enlistment, service members and their families are eligible for Red Cross assistance.
